Blending Families

I have been married for 14 years and we have four children together.  Our love story will unfold in another blog, but I wonder how many families are blended today?  When I was 11 and my brother was 7, my parents divorced.  By the age of 12, they were both remarried.  My mother married a man (who later I considered my dad…another blog!  LOL) with 3 children.  My father married a woman without children…later she had 2 children (absolutely another blog! HAHA).  We lived with my mother, so blending was a must!  My stepdad’s oldest daughter had already graduated high school, so it was only 4 children living in one household…ages ranging from 8 to 17!  Yikes!  I praise God I had the mother I did, because with all the messed up things I did in rebellion, life could’ve been really bad!

Fast forward to my own life.  I married my high school sweetheart, moved to Hawaii, had a baby and found myself divorced 3 years later!  When I met my current and forever husband, he had been divorced for almost a year and I was going through a divorce.  He had two children from his previous marriage.  Dating was interesting and I plan to attack that subject at a later date for those wondering how to start over after a divorce!  When we married, he had a 5 and 7 year old and I had a 2 year old.  Within our first year, we had a daughter which completed our blended family!  I have lots of stories, advice and helpful tips to blending your family in harmony!

How many of y’all have blended families?  I would love to hear from you!
