You are NOT your feelings!
Stress can be caused an accumulation of events throughout your day. Unfortunately most of us become how we feel. We feel frustrated and somehow BECOME frustrated. Then, for days you’re dwelling on this feeling and beat yourself black and blue over it. You are now held hostage to your feelings!
Recognize your feeling and understand that you are NOT your emotions. Perception is everything right? Instead of “I’m so frustrated” think “ok, I’m feeling frustration” and change your thoughts. There is a big difference between these two statements. You can fuse with and become the emotion or separate yourself from how you feel by identifying what you notice. You are NOT frustrated. You FEEL frustrated.
I challenge you to avoid using the words Overwhelm, Frustration and Disappointment because they will hold you back. You stay in those places…overwhelmed, frustrated and beyond disappointed. You remain a hostage to your feelings and feel chained to negativity.
Start with your mindset. Acknowledge your feelings and understand that you have the power to change your direction at any time. Avoid the negative and fuel your mind with positivity. “I feel frustrated but I know this will pass. Everything will fall into place.” (Deep Breath) Hit the mental reset button and move on.
“When my heart is overwhelmed, lead me to the rock that is higher than I.” Psalm 61:2
