Not Everyone Can Lead the Pack
/“Speed of the Pack is the Speed of the Leader”
I used to hate hearing this because it weighed so heavily on my shoulders. I began pushing and pushing toward my goals and poured myself into my work. I saw a bigger picture. I had a vision of what was to come. I tasted success and wanted more so I worked tirelessly. I took time for myself but not much.🤣
About 9 months ago, I was on a coaching call and the person on the other line was complaining and down. She finally said “Jen, not everyone can be like you. Not everyone can push through!”
Her words made me think. A simple statement had me reflecting on my life and actions. Although sometimes I felt frustrated with people, I offered grace and understanding to those not like me, because she was right that we are all not the same. 3 thoughts popped in my head immediately when she said those words to me.
You’re so right! Not everyone wants this as bad as I do!!
I don’t want everyone to be like me. We are all unique and beautiful in our way! and
What’s wrong with being like me? What is so bad about focusing on the positive, never giving up and pushing through?
The truth is, #1 is accurate. No one can want it more than I do. No one can do it for me. If I want success, I must put in the work. The same goes for you. No one can want something for you more than you want it yourself. If you’re wanting to achieve a goal, you must put the work in, lead the pack and always be working 10x harder than anyone else!
Let’s be honest, life would be so boring if everyone was just like me.😉 I am grateful we are all different and have our own special gifts and talents. I am glad we aren’t the same cookie cutter human. It’s ok to be unique! Stand out... like a unicorn in a field of horses!!
Digging deeper… I have been through some incredibly painful, excruciating events in my life. You couldn’t handle the things I’ve been through, but you know what? God gave those struggles to me and not you! He knew I was strong enough to handle what life threw at me and He would carry me when I couldn’t do it anymore. Just the same, there are things you’ve been through that I probably cannot even imagine.
Having said that, I do not dwell in the negative. I stay focused on the positive and show up regardless of the heartache or obstacle in front of me. I show up every single day. I don’t stop or give up. It’s actually what helps me through the hard times. Do I mourn or sulk? Absolutely!! But then I get up, put my big girl panties on and get back to it. That is what you must do if you want to advance in life. Don’t get stuck in the rut. Push through. You’ll be grateful you did!
Are you where you want to be in life? Is there something you need to change in order to become a better leader and version of yourself? You are strong and wiser than you let yourself believe. It’s time to believe in yourself, sweet girl.
The saying, the speed of the pack is the speed of the leader resonates with me now. I get it. I understand it. Do you? Are you ready to lead your pack?
