MOMPRENEUR
/Are you a Mompreneur? Are you interested in being one? Do you even know the definition of a Mompreneur? A Mompreneur is a newly coin word. It is defined as a female business owner who balances the role of mom and entrepreneur! So, why are so many moms choosing to own their own business? FREEDOM! In today’s society, women have to work outside the home to help with financial obligations in their household. The cost to be a working mom has increased significantly over the years. If you don’t have a free nanny or someone to assist you with everyday chores, the cost to go to work can actually set you back! Therefore, women have decided to take a hold of their lives and work from home, avoiding childcare and other costs as well as providing quality time with their children.
Being a Mompreneur is not easy! In fact, it is as challenging as raising a family! However, it is also just as rewarding!! They both take a full-time commitment and demand patience, perseverance and a lot of LOVE! Being a mom and an entrepreneur can go hand in hand and has made many moms very happy! Think about it… Your children can serve as an inspiration…as your WHY! They can inspire you to be better, work harder and make life easier for everyone in the family! The balance of work and home takes on a different meaning as well. You set your own schedule, wear what you want, do as you please and that provides a liberating, healthy lifestyle. You have to be self-disciplined to be a Mompreneur or you’ll sink! You HAVE to work even if it is on YOUR time! What’s another reason to be a Mompreneur? You are teaching your children valuable business skills, drive, respect for others, grace, patience and the strength to deal with all of the ups and downs in life. You teach them how to be successful, how to get back up when you fall, how to celebrate successes and even how to be a good leader and role model. My favorite part of being a Mompreneur is the fact that they go hand in hand! I have the luxury to do what I love and am passionate about and still keep my Faith and Family a priority! I don’t miss milestones in my family’s lives. I don’t have to ask for time off to take my kids to the doctor or just to spend quality time with them. That has provided my daughter the ability to participate in a traveling, competitive soccer team and given our family multiple mini-vacations! I work in my yoga pants, no makeup & hair up most days! I get to be the CEO of my family, business and my own life!
