The Importance of being "Sales Active"

Many direct sales compensation plans do not have minimum sales requirements unless you want to be paid on your team. If you have a team, you are required to be “Sales Active” to be paid commission on your team.

So.... if you do not have a team or your team is not working, being active shouldn’t matter, right?  Well... not exactly.

Being Sales Active consistently each month means a few things:

  1. You won’t struggle to become active each month and it will eventually become a habit;

  2. When you have a team, you won’t worry about getting sales to be paid on them;

  3. You will be able to lead by example.  Leaders cannot expect their team to do what they are not doing themselves;

  4. You will never leave money on the table. With the potential for growth and possibility of a customer flipping to representative, you can’t let this one slide;

  5. You will begin to understand the income potential that your company offers and can continually grow to maximize the compensation plan;

  6. You are taking your business seriously.  This is a business and treating it as such is important if you plan to be successful; and

  7. Your upline will benefit from you as an active leg.

Let's chat about #7 a little more - being an active leg for your upline means that they can count on you as they work toward a promotion.  Although that may seem unimportant to you right now, think about this for a hot minute. If you were one active leg from achieving a goal, would you want your downline to be active or not care?!

If you struggle with helping your upline succeed, think about it this way... Having an attitude that you do not want to help others achieve their dreams and goals is an attitude of selfishness and it usually results in failure.  Change this attitude to collaboration and be a team player to achieve abundance in your life and business.

Also, being consistently Sales Active sets you apart! Your upline knows that they can count on you to be active, lead by example and lead a team yourself.  Most leaders work closer to teammates they can count on and are usually more inclined to help those with a collaborative spirit.

 Let yourself be seen, heard and counted. Get active. Every single month.

Here are a few tried and true ways to get active and stay active each month:

  1. Talk to at least 10 people about your products each month;

  2. Follow up with past customers for reorders;

  3. Post on your social media about the products you offer;

  4. Send out samples (if you have them);

  5. Ask your friends and family to try your products;

  6. Ask your friends and family to host a party (online or in person); and

  7. Ask your customers to share and/or review the products on social media.

I hope this helps open your eyes to why becoming Sales Active each month is crucial for your business.  I encourage you to get Sales Active this month and help your team get active.
