READY, SET, ACTION!

LIGHTING IS EVERYTHING

Lighting is everything and as I’ve shared in my LIVE trainings, the best lighting is natural lighting. Can’t use natural lighting? Get the brightest, whitest, most natural bulbs to use when recording until you can get a good ring light, box light, Riki Mirror, etc.

HORIZONTAL VS VERTICAL

When going LIVE, turn your camera/phone horizontally.  Landscape vs Portrait view. Why?

Screen Shot 2019-07-01 at 10.31.06 PM.png

✨It is more flattering;
✨Shows more background;
✨Isn't so "in your face;"
✨It is more like watching TV;
✨Doesn't crop your video for viewers;
✨Is the preferred view by Facebook & will get you in front of more people;
✨ Comments aren't all over your face; and
✨You can repurpose your video on YouTube (trust me, even if you don't now, you will want to later!)

Yes, it takes some time to get used to the camera on the side. Tip: Put a sticker on the side to remind you to look that direction!  Up your LIVE game with a simple twist of the wrist!!

ADD VALUE ALWAYS

No one wants to watch a live that doesn’t do one of the following:

👉 Teach them;
👉 Uplift, Encourage or Motivate them; or
👉 Bring laughter to their life.

Don't try to be something you are not. People see right through that. Be natural. Be you. Be vulnerable and relatable. BUT...have a *purpose* for going LIVE! So, have an intentional purpose for your LIVE and add value to someone's life today!

PUMP YOURSELF UP

Listen to your FAVORITE song right before you go LIVE. This will calm your nerves. 😬🎧🎼

If you’re having a tough day, listening to your FAVORITE song or one that pumps you up will shift your energy.✨🤗💡

This simple trick will give you more confidence, make it less stressful and help put you in a positive, uplifting mood. Try it!✌🏻🖤✨

LIVE POSITIONING

➡️ The camera should be at eye level. You should not look up or down.

➡️ Your head should be visible in its entirety, but not consume the entire camera. Step/sit back about 1-2 feet. The further back you go, the wider the view of the background and more of you shows (chest, etc). (When I stand to do a LIVE, I stand about 2-3 feet away.)

➡️ Look at the camera and not yourself or you will pick yourself apart, adjust everything (clothes, hair, posture) and be distracted.

➡️ Keep it swanky, not skanky! No No Squares should not be visible. Cover yourself up and be classy! Yes, revealing too much skin can get attention, but it’s not the attention we want and that is not the brand we represent.

LIVES ARE EVERYTHING

Everything!! And you can’t go LIVE about lashes only! You have to be yourself and share things you know and are passionate about.

Great example is here. See the right side? Each of these were about lashes and the left was about being a Mom! Timing of your LIVE matters, lighting matters, positioning of your camera matters but most important is the content! You have to deliver valuable content that reveals who YOU truly are because people buy people. They want to connect with you and when you go LIVE, you are opening a door inside your life but for a short time. People who live thousands of miles away get to see your face and feel an instant connection. Introverts find this pleasurable as they don’t have to actually be in front of people and can create a persona they always wanted to be. Trust me, you want to do LIVES!

My video on the left had over 2K views, I gained 20 friend requests and 40 followers. That’s 60 people who will now see my posts and be introduced to our lashes and opportunity!  Plus I got 9 shares vs 1 on the other videos. So why aren’t you doing LIVES?!?

6 KEY COMPONENTS WILL HELP YOUR LIVES GO SMOOTHLY:

1) DO NOT wait for people to hop on but instead start your LIVE with a WELCOME, tell them who you are and what you’re about to discuss.

2) ACKNOWLEDGE your LIVE viewers and encourage them to say hello, drop a comment below & address your Replay Watchers.

3) Deliver your MESSAGE. Have a purpose for your LIVE. Don’t just go LIVE without a topic or subject to chat about, share with or teach your audience.

4) INTERACTION is important. Interact with your viewers, read a comment here and there and engage as you deliver your message.

5) ACTION STEPS are crucial. If you don’t ask for it, it won’t happen. Ask your viewers to subscribe to your LIVES, share your LIVE, tag friends in your LIVE, contact you for more information or whatever it is you want to accomplish.

6) CLOSING your LIVE should follow the action step and should include a thank you to your viewers.
